English as a Second Language (ESL)

Learn a new language

 

English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered under the College and Career Readiness program and available to adults whose native language is not English. ESL classes provide instruction in the areas of speaking, reading, and writing English and focus on both the cultural and linguistic needs of the students.

This program also helps students acquire the communication, employment, and citizenship skills needed to succeed in the American community.

Registration includes an initial testing/placement assessment used to determine English language proficiency and level placement.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The next step to enroll in the English as a Second Language program to improve your English language proficiency will be to sign up for ESL classes. Students can sign up for classes by sending an email to esl@clevelandcc.edu during the sign-up period. Class seating is limited, and students will be enrolled in class based on available seats on a first come first serve basis.

Below is the Fall 2025 ESL class schedule for session #1 and session #2:

To sign up for the session #1 and session #2 classes, email esl@clevelandcc.edu during the sign-up periods. Seating will be limited.

Note: Current students and those who emailed for session #1 will have priority for the session #2 class. Additional seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other options may be available. For more information about the English as a Second Language program, please complete the interest form below or visit our office in Room 3107 on the first floor of the Paksoy Technology Building.
